Princess Dance Camp

10am – 12pm
This camp teaches age-appropriate ballet and tap techniques, emphasizing creativity, coordination and musicality, and will explore the story, music and costumes of ballet. The week will culminate with an informal demonstration for parents and friends.
Ages: 3 – 4
Class Size: 10 Max.

Dress Code: Girls should wear solid-colored leotards (please no patterns or designs), an attached skirt is allowed, pink tights, pink ballet slippers and black patent leather tap shoes. Boys should wear white or black solid-colored t-shirts (please no patterns or designs), black athletic shorts, white socks, black ballet slippers and black oxford tap shoes.

Jungle Book Theatre Camp

9am – 3pm
Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, The Jungle Book KIDS features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie. Banished by the tiger, Shere Khan, a boy named Mowgli and his panther friend, Bagheera, are on the run in the deepest parts of the jungle. On their journey, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swinging musical rhythms of the jungle.
Performance for camp will be on Saturday, July 18, at 6pm, with a dress rehearsal at 10am on the same day.

Let’s Get Cookin’ Camp

9am – 12pm
This intermediate baking camp builds on beginner level skills while exploring more delicious recipes and reinforcing skills in kitchen safety and cleanliness, nutrition and ingredient selection.

Costume Design Camp

9am – 12pm
Campers will work with color, style and pattern to design and build their own unique costume. They also learn sewing techniques. Camp builds to a final runway show for invited family and guests.

Playground Art In the Park (Legends West)

9am 10am
Free art activities offered in our neighborhood pavilions. No experience is required – just bring an open imagination and an adult to help out. Large groups, please contact Marcella Kuykendall for pre-registration. Registration is required.

Acrylic Pouring Camp

Learn the dirty pour or the flip cup techniques of acrylic pouring, the color wheel and how to create abstract art.

FX Makeup Effects Camp

This unique camp features the owners of FX, etc., makeup effects school in Carrollton. Campers will learn from professional makeup effects artists some of the tricks of the trade, from simple makeup designs to more advanced methods and techniques. *An allergy waiver must be completed for each participant to participate.

Dance Technique: Intensive

July 20 – 24, 9am – 3pm
The variety of classes offered – Ballet, Classical Variations, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Tap – encourages program participants to advance and expand their training. Dancers should bring a water bottle, a healthy lunch and snack (no nut products) as well as a yoga mat or thick towel and a theraband.

To participate in this training, the center requires minimum training of three years in Classical Ballet (for example the student has completed one year of Classical Ballet III). This program is not for beginners.

Dance for Musical Theatre

9am – 3pm
Birmingham-based musical theatre performer and choreographer, Darby Burgess, will work with participants on how to prepare their body and mind for dance. Participants will receive training for auditions for jobs in musical theatre.
