Portrait Painting Workshop

Saturday, April 20, 2019
1pm – 4pm
In this exciting workshop, you’ll learn how to paint a portrait in various media using age-old and modern techniques from a reference photo. You can expect hands-on instruction and lots of tips along the way. We’ll then apply the drawing onto the toned canvas and ink-in the lines. After a review of color and mixing skin tones we’ll block-in the first thin layer of color then paint the portrait with subsequent thicker layers. Students can expect to walk away from this class with a basic knowledge needed to paint a portrait from a photo to achieve likeness, skin-tones, and detail.
