Carrollton Writers Guild

The Carrollton Writers Guild supports a diverse group of individuals (18+) and a wide range of writing interests. Among our group are poets and writers of modern westerns, thrillers, fantasy, short stories, and memoir. We embrace all levels of ability and our goal is to encourage growth in all our members. The CWG has nearly 50 members. Annual donation is $30 for attendance at an unlimited number of meetings.

General Meetings (for all members): Second Tuesday of the even months (February, April, June, August, October, December) at 10 am in Classroom 3.
Just Poetry (a breakout group for all forms of poetry): Second Wednesday and the fourth Tuesday at 10 am in the Conference Room.
Just Prose (a breakout group for all genres of literature, fiction and nonfiction): First and third Wednesday at 10 am in Classroom 3 each month.
Just Saturday (all work fiction, nonfiction, memoir and poetry): Second Saturday of the month at 10 am in Classroom 3.
Just Memoirs: Second Tuesday at 10 am on the odd months and 11 am on the even months (after the general meeting).

Visitors are welcome to any meetings. An individual may visit twice before deciding whether to join. The CWG also hosts a variety of competitions, workshops and events. Carrollton Artist Guild

The three main objectives of the Carrollton Artists Guild are to educate, inspire and promote its members. The guild is responsible for the annual Arts Festival of Carrollton, an annual juried gallery show, holiday gallery show, workshops, artist demonstrations and solo shows in a variety of locations in the community. The guild allows student artists to join when accompanied by adults. Otherwise, artists need to be 18 or older to join. For more information, email contact@carrolltonartistguild.com.

Carroll Symphony Orchestra

The Carroll Symphony Orchestra has created an alliance with the Carrollton Center for the Arts. The Carroll Symphony Orchestra started in October 2002. The Symphony is conducted by Terry Lowry and overseen by a Board of Directors. The organization also houses several other programs including the Carrollton Wind Ensemble, and newly formed Carrollton Jazz Orchestra, & Carroll Symphony Orchestra Music Academy. Carrollton Wind Ensemble

Founded in 2011, the Carrollton Wind Ensemble is an outreach program of the Carroll Symphony Orchestra and enjoys sharing their love of music with the community. Under the direction of CSO Conductor Terry Lowry, this concert band rehearses weekly on Tuesdays from 7-9 pm at the Center and spring season rehearsals begin on January 10. In addition to performing for veteran’s ceremonies and other community events, these musicians will perform concerts at the center and the AMP. This group is open to anyone who played a wind or percussion instrument in high school or college, and each member will provide their own concert attire and instrument. The ability to read music and play scales is necessary, but no audition is required.

Carroll County Community Chorus

The Carroll County Community Chorus is open to anyone at least 18 years old who loves to sing. The Chorus sings two concerts a year, Christmas and Spring. Singers can join at the beginning of each season through the third rehearsal and must join by September 25, 2023, to be in the Christmas Concert, Christmas in Carrollton. Terry Lowry is the new conductor. No auditions are required. Members are required to provide their own performance attire. The Carroll County Community Theater has brought quality theatrical experiences to Northwest Georgia since 1978. The group has tackled contemporary works and classical literature on stage.
